Southbrook “Whimsy!” 2010 Cabernet Franc
Looking to try a new grape? Cabernet Franc is an ancient Bordeaux varietal that makes a beautiful stand-alone varietal in both Ontario and B.C. appellations. Though not ‘cheap’ at 35$, […]
This is a wine blog for everyone! This is the wine blog that is going to change your life. Well, not really, but as the only pair of remaining students at KWM, Evan and Kim will be aiming to get you to take another look at wine that you just may pass by normally. As colleagues, Evan, and Kim have been collectively working at Kenaston Wine Market for almost 8 years. In that same time span they have both been students at the University of Manitoba in the department of Landscape Architecture. As you can quite imagine, neither of them has copious amounts of money to invest in wine on a daily or weekly basis. Therefore they pride themselves on being able to stretch a dollar and get the best wine they possibly can for a respectable amount of money. So, if you are either a grad student on a budget or you just want some amazing finds to fill your desk, cupboard or makeshift wine rack you can typically find either of them working evenings or weekends at the store. Come by and they’ll do their best to send you home happy with some delicious wines and not just your typical boxed wine; what they lovingly call “Cardbordeaux”.

French wine can be scary. It can be intimidating, considering most is classified by only the specific region or village that it is grown in. Evan and I have been […]
